This Privacy Policy applies to personal data (“Data”) that we collect from you in order to provide you with the products and services that we offer.

We attach particular importance to the protection of your personal data, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 201:/:79 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 201: on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and the Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.

By using our solution or by communicating your Data to us when requesting information or commercial offers, either directly or through our partners, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not accept the provisions of this policy, please do not use our solution and do not provide us with your Data. In this case, you nevertheless agree not to benefit from all the services and other advantages offered by VIASAT CONNECT.

3. What data do we collect, for what purpose and on what legal basis?

This is the Data that you provide to us, either directly or through the aidoo solution, and also through cookies placed by us or, more generally, by third-party services.

We will only use the Data for the processing purposes described below.

3.1. Processing of Data as Data Controller ​

3.1.1. Registration and creation of a user account ​

The purpose of this processing is to enable you to register, verify your identity and create and manage a user account in order to benefit from our services.

The categories of personal data processed as part of this operation are: your identification data (surname, first name, company name and address), your contact data (email address and telephone number), your electronic identification data (login, password), your connection data (logs, IP address, browser version, etc.) and your language preferences.

The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract.

We retain your Data for as long as your registration is effective.

3.1.2. Maintenance of user accounts

The purpose of this processing is to enable us to manage your user account, to guarantee security and reliability, to prevent fraud and abuse of our services, to manage requests from data subjects and to provide user support.

The categories of personal data processed as part of this operation are: your identification data (surname, first name, company name and address), your contact data (email address and telephone number), your electronic identification data (login, password), your connection data (logs, IP address, browser version, etc.) and your language preferences.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest.

We retain your Data for as long as your registration is effective.

3.1.3 Personalised use of the Service

The purpose of this processing is to personalise the use of the service when you configure the parameters of your account.

The purpose of this processing is to provide assistance related to the Service, answer questions and process requests.

The purpose of this processing is to provide you with a quality Service adapted to your needs.

3.2. Data processing as a subcontractor

We process your Data on behalf of our Customers and in accordance with their instructions as part of the services we provide to them. In this context, we act as a Subcontractor. Our Customer acts as Data Controller.

In this respect, we comply with the regulations in force on the protection of personal data and we assist you in exercising your rights as a data subject.

For further information on the implementation of this processing, and in particular on how long the data is kept, we refer you to the confidentiality policies of our Customers and to the service contracts binding us to them.

Our solutions use cookies.

4. How long do we keep your data?

We retain your Field Data for the retention period defined by our Customers, who are responsible for the processing. Otherwise, this period is set at a maximum of 2 years.

Your identification and contact details are kept for the duration of the service contract.

Your Connection Data is kept for two months.

At the end of this retention period, we make every effort to ensure that your Data has been made unavailable.

5. To whom may your Data be disclosed?

Your Data may be communicated, for the aforementioned purposes, either to resellers who are part of the VIASAT CONNECT group and who market AIDOO solutions, or to resellers who are not part of the VIASAT CONNECT group and who market AIDOO solutions.

As part of the performance of our services, particularly for marketing purposes, we may subcontract some or all of our tasks to technical subcontractors who are bound to us by contracts.

VIASAT CONNECT requires its subcontractors to comply with Data protection legislation and to present sufficient guarantees regarding the implementation of appropriate technical and organisational measures, so that processing meets the requirements of applicable Data protection legislation and guarantees the protection of your rights.

We do not sell or disclose, in any way whatsoever, the Data we collect about you to third parties.

In certain circumstances, our website and applications will provide you with plugins from different social networks. If you choose to interact with a social network site such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, your activity on our site or via our applications will also be accessible on that social network. Please read the privacy policies of these social networks for detailed information on the collection and transfer of personal information, your rights and how you can obtain a satisfactory privacy setting.

8. What happens in case of a litigation ?

If you believe that we are in breach of any of our legal and/or contractual obligations, please contact us by email at dpo@viasatconnect.be. We will make every effort to follow up with you as soon as possible.

Any claim, complaint or grievance shall be addressed to the VIASAT CONNECT head office.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. Information about children

As a general rule, we do not intentionally collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from children under the age of 13, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible, unless we are required to retain it by applicable law.

If, however, we do collect information from children under the age of 13, we will obtain the consent of the holder of parental responsibility for that child before using his or her personal information.

VIASAT CONNECT’s liability shall be limited to direct damage, to the exclusion of any indirect damage. VIASAT CONNECT may never be held liable for damages deemed to be indirect, such as, but not limited to, loss of Data, financial or commercial loss, loss of profits, increased overheads, disruption of planning.

Furthermore, VIASAT CONNECT shall not be liable for any damage resulting from illegitimate manipulation of the Data by third parties (theft of Data, viruses, phishing or other computer crimes).
